Wines for Thanksgiving 2023

For Thanksgiving we eat a lot. The last thing we want is heavy alcohol which can overwhelm us and make us feel heavier.  Wines that are on the lighter or medium bodied side are the best choices, and those that are not shy about their fruit  go best with all of the rich dishes.

We have many wine choices awaiting you, but here are some recommendations of ones that will please.

And, we wish everyone a warm and Happy Thanksgiving!

WHITES

Clean Slate Riesling. Not too sweet, not too dry , it has aromas of honey, minerals and fresh herbs with citrus and white florals shining through on the palate of this off-dry nicely balanced Mosel Riesling.

A great value at  $12.99.

Tenuta Roveglia Lugana Limne. From Lombardy,  medium bodied with

supple ripe pear and peach flavors and a lemon curd-like finish. It's done in stainless steel to preserve all its freshness.

Schoffit Pinot Gris Tradition. The palate is lithe, racy and savory with bright acidity. Aged briefly in oak it exhibits delicate fruit notes with smokey overtones.

REDS

Cline Old Vines Zinfandel. For those who like a little extra oomph - A very cherry nose, intense and jammy with some vanilla and spice.  The palate has plenty of spicy cherry and plum flavors.   It finishes relatively long, with a nice, spicy sour cherry smoothness.
